Film Genre Research- The fault in our stars

This is teen drama based movie. This movie is about two young people with cancer fall in love. Hazel meets Gus Walters in her cancer support group. Hazel feels like Gus can understand her and they have a connection. However the two actors face difficulty after Gus is diagnosed with cancer again after his Holland trip. The beginning of the movie starts off with flashbacks to let the audience guess what has happened and then the shot goes to the actor being sick and that was all before. Transitions in the movies are used between shots to represent a flashback or present to the audience. Mis-en-scene is used in the movie when there is a close up shot of Hazel, allowing the audience to feel a personal connection with her. As a flashback there is a close-up of Hazel laughing with Gus, being happy. At the opening of the film the sound of a voice over women is heard but, it fades as the camera switches to reality of Hazel and having cancer. This movie budget was $12 million dollars, in total they made $307.2 million dollars. This movie won teen choice award in 2014, as well as other nominations and awards.
